Getting started
It is surprisingly easy to make a start in model rocketry. You don't need any licences, and you don't need to pass any exams. You certainly don't need to be a rocket scientist, though you can always tell your friends that you are! You can view some frequently asked questions here.
The easiest way to get started is to purchase one of our starter sets, produced by Estes, or by Quest....two of the largest model rocket manufacturers in the world. A starter set contains virtually all you need to be flying in no time at all. All these sets can use either Estes or Quest motors, which are identical in size. To complete your model rocket, you will require very basic modeling tools such as a craft knife, sandpaper, a sharp pencil, and glue. It is useful to have a supply of PVA type wood glue, and also some superglue. The stronger epoxy type adhesives are not necessary for these kits.
